This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The bottom has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
Click through for the full view which is much, much better. And if you like it please fave it. Might do prints of this maybe, if people are interested.
It is natural to get nostalgic around Christmas time, but at the moment I find myself feeling nostalgic for things and places that never were and things that never really existed, for travel in hot air balloons or whaling ships, societies that fully embraced the arts and sciences together, and all the sorts of expression that blossoms when all those things are together. To point: steampunk. So here are some of my favorite images on deviantART that could inspire steampunk or be inspired by steampunk.

"ars sine scientia nihil est" (trans: "art without knowledge is nothing") - attributed to Jean Mignot, 14th C.
"There is no science without fancy and no art without fact" Vladimir Nabokov
"There are two kinds of truth: the truth that lights the way and the truth that warms the heart. The first of these is science, and the second is art. Neither is independent of the other or more important than the other. Without art science would be as useless as a pair of high forceps in the hands of a plumber. Without science art would become a crude mess of folklore and emotional quackery. The truth of art keeps science from becoming inhuman, and the truth of science keeps art from becoming ridiculous." -Raymond Thornton Chandler, writer, 1888-1959
Happy Christmas to you!

ps - I noticed there are not a lot of men on that list. So to make it up at some point I'll do a post dedicated to (mostly) men in steampunk.

This is my camera. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My camera is my best friend. Without my camera, I am useless. Without me, my camera is useless. I must fire my camera true. And I will!

"The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself. "
